Each year Sullivan Renaissance enters into partnerships with institutions in both the private and public sectors. These collaborative efforts are at the core of the Renaissance mission - and the success of the program could not be done without our partners.

The Beaverkill Foundation

The Beaverkill Foundation works to improve the quality of life in Sullivan County, including economic, social and beautification issues.

Gerry Foundation

Established by Alan Gerry in 1996, The Gerry Foundation is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quality of life of Sullivan County and the surrounding area through economic and community development and the support of education, culture, music and the arts.

As a vehicle to help energize the economy of Sullivan County, the foundation acquired the site of the original Woodstock Festival the same year.  In order to reach the full potential of the location, the foundation has subsequently purchased several hundred acres of surrounding property in Bethel, NY.

The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival in Bethel had its inaugural opening on July 4, 2006 with a concert by the New York Philharmonic. Facilities include a 4800-seat covered pavilion, lawn seating for 12,000, an interpretive center and events lobby (opening 2007), three outdoor event pavilions, several parking areas and the infrastructure to support the arts center. The Museum at Bethel Woods, scheduled to open to the public June 2008, will interpret the unique experience of the Woodstock Festival, its significance as the culminating event of a decade of radical cultural transformation, and the legacy of the Sixties and Woodstock today. The purpose of the Interpretive Center is to complement the development of the site by creating a multi-purpose destination facility. The museum portion will present a historical perspective of the 1969 Woodstock Concert and the decade of the 60’s through multi-media exhibits.
